Award-winning independent documentary filmmaker Corinne van der Borch is based in New York, where she graduated with an MFA from The School of Visual Arts. Mentored by experimental filmmaker Alan Berliner and the pioneer of Direct Cinema Albert Maysles, her work has screened in Edinburgh, London, Amsterdam, New York and Los Angeles. Her feature length documentary ‘Girl with Black Balloons’, about the oldest living resident of the Chelsea Hotel won the Grand Jury Metropolis prize at DOC NYC in 2011. She has worked as a researcher, editor, cinematographer and producer on several commercial non-fiction projects in Amsterdam, New York, London, Hanoi and Berlin for clients such as Unilever, Microsoft, Canon, Heineken and the Bill Gates Foundation. Her latest work is a video installation for the Venice Architecture Bienale 2014. Her work has “honest simplicity and integrity,” (Jury DOC NYC). Wondertime Films sets out to create ‘ordinary magic’, by collecting authentic stories and visuals, which can easily go unseen. vimeo link to the work:
